Travel Documents:
You will need the following:
Non-expired Passport with ≥ 6 months validity from date of travel containing ≥ 2 blank paged
Recommended - a scanned printout of the first and last pages of your passport and a copy of that pdf on your phone
Proof of Return/ Onward Ticket - print out ideally/ phone copy/ airline app
Immigration may ask for this as proof you do not overstay your visa if you are a non Indian citizen/ resident/ OCI Card holder
Proof of Sufficient Funds for travel
Credit Card/ Debit Card are typically sufficient
All travelers must complete an e-arrival card
Fill this out 72-hours in advance of arrival or before taking off (internet access) using https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival/
Use your hotel address or the Heritage’s address (on FAQ page) for your ‘address in India information”
Carry a printed copy or one on your phone to show immigration.
All international travelers to India must complete the Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form
This form will also be handed out by airlines 1 hour prior to landing in New Delhi/ India

It is a declaration to Indian Ministry of Health that you have/ have not traveled to a country where there is an active Ebola outbreak.
Visa Requirements:
If you have a or OCI (overseas citizen of India) card, you do not need to apply for a visa - these are lifelong visas and never expire.
Note PIO (Person of Indian Origin) cards are now expired and need to be converted to OCI cards.

If you are a U.S. citizen, you will need to apply for an e-visa online

Scanned US Passport bio page: as PDF, 10–300 KB
Scanned Passport Style Photo: recent, front-facing, plain white background, square (2"×2"), JPEG, 10 KB–1 MB, minimum 350 × 350 pixels.
How do I Apply for a Visa?

What happens after submitting my Visa application?
Do I get a confirmation of submission of my e-Visa application?
Ans- Yes. Immediately after you submit your e-Visa application and make the payment, you will receive a confirmation of submission of your application on the email id provided by you while filling your application form.
When will my e-Visa be issued and how will I be informed about it?
Ans- You will be informed about your Visa status (Granted or Rejected) on the email id you provided in the e-Visa application.
You can check the status of your application anytime by visiting the e-visa website, scrolling to the bottom, and clicking “Check your visa status”.
